Introduction

Our goal is to provide parents or guardians with a child care choice that is easy to make.  St. Joseph’s Child Care Center, located in Tampa, is primarily available to employees of St. Joseph’s Hospital and its affiliates.  Hospital employees have first priority in the center, followed by hospital affiliates and then community families.  St. Joseph’s Child Care Center offers the following types of care:

Traditional Care

Teams of experienced childcare professionals provide the comprehensive care your child needs throughout the day.  Developmentally appropriate curriculum is written and implemented on a daily basis.  Children are offered a wide variety of activities throughout the day including music and movement, free choice in centers where they can paint a picture or build with blocks, outside play as well as a hot lunch and an afternoon nap.  Hillsborough County Child Care Licensing licenses St. Joseph’s Child Care Center.  The center is also accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Mildly Ill Care

We offer Mildly Ill Child Care at the Comfort Cottage.  The Comfort Cottage is staffed with an LPN and is open the same hours as the center.  The Comfort Cottage is for days when your child has a mild illness or may be recovering from a more serious illness.  Examples include, a low-grade fever, cold symptoms, an earache or recovering from minor surgery.  The LPN will monitor your child’s condition throughout the day and notify you of any changes.  The Comfort Cottage is available to St. Joseph’s Hospital employees at the rate of $35.00 per day or $25.00 for 4 hours or less.  For affiliates of St Joseph's the rate is $40 per day or $30.00 for 4 hours or less.  For Community families the Comfort Cottage is available at the rate of $50 per day or $40 for 4 hours or less.

Admissions

TodayCare admits children without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin or ancestry.  We also do not discriminate on the basis of special needs as long as we are able to provide a safe, supportive environment for your child.

Parents are encouraged to visit with their children prior to admission to familiarize themselves with the center and meet our staff.  Preliminary paperwork can be completed at the time of the pre-admission visit.  All registration forms must be completed and returned prior to your child beginning in our program.  These can be obtained from the center.
